Camped in a tent for one night. Pleasant experience. Rangers go around every hour even during the night. Was a little bit noisy in the night. Nice area close to Hyde Park, Franklin Roosevelt home and Vanderbilt mansions.
Very beautiful and many intersting and historic sites along the hudson river.
Lots of trails and some of the best trees around. Add in the beautiful water... It's paradise.
This is a great park that few people know about. It has a campground, marina and kayak outfitter (which I work for). On the south end of the park is the DEC which is open to the public on weekdays and some weekends. Lots of great trails to hike, bike or run. Mills Mansion is at the north end of the park.
Not a particularly fantastic park for walking or day hikes. Better for camping.
